Physical Features of Flamingos:
Internal Features:
- They have long legs and neck that allow them to move in deep water and a neck to be able to reach prey.
- All flamingos are pink in color, however some can be very light while others very dark.
- They have a unique curved beak that allows them to grab prey easy and fast.
- Flamingos get around one of two ways, the first being they walk on their two legs, and the other by flying. In order for flamingos to fly however, they have to have a starting running pace for it to be efficient and they cannot fly long distances.
- The average flamingo can move up to 60 miles per hour!
Internal Features:
- Their ankles are located halfway up their legs.
- The flamingo's knees are close to their bodies and are not visible from the outside of their body.
- The inside of their beaks are lined with small bristle like strings that allow them to filter mud out of their water.
